CRUISE ship passengers arriving in Guernsey yesterday gave CT Plus's decision to scrap the number 7 round-island bus route a big thumbs down.

Many had heard about the popular journey on online travel forums. Their cruise ship also publicised the route with onboard information leaflets.

Passengers felt cancelling it was a 'bad idea' and potentially harmful to the tourist industry.

Julie and Tracey Britton, from Oxfordshire, were among some of the 3,000 passengers on board the cruise ship Azura yesterday.

'I think it will be a huge shame and could damage the tourist market here,' said Mrs Britton, who is in her 60s.
