Environment invites tenders for five-year bus contract
ENVIRONMENT has gone out to tender on a potential new five-year bus contract.
The contract, currently with CT Plus, is under review and as part of that the department has invited interested operators to tender against different scenarios, which include the current service, an enhanced service and its own proposed optimised service.
Any new contract is 'likely' to be for five years but with an option for it to be extended up to a further 15 once the operator is into its third year.
In the tender documents, the department said the States wanted a free expanded bus service as part of the approved transport strategy.
'Following the debate in the parliament of Guernsey's government, the department is commencing a procurement for bus services provision,' it said.
