Education meeting to discuss shock resignation
AN EMERGENCY meeting was held by Education's board this morning to discuss the shock resignation of schools expert Denis Mulkerrin.

Education minister Robert Sillars yesterday said the board would meet at 8am to decide how to respond to the loss of the former head teacher who had 'lost confidence' in the department.
Other board members remained tight-lipped yesterday, having not collectively discussed the criticisms made by the highly-respected expert.
Mr Mulkerrin has attacked the resistance to move away from a central control culture.
His views were backed by teaching union representative Caroline Bowker, who warned that the resistance to relinquish the grip of Education's 'centre' was breeding disillusioned teachers.
