Around 20,000 people lined the island's streets for the milestone festivities to remember the end of five long years of Occupation on 9 May 1945 and to celebrate seven decades of precious freedom.

We bring you coverage of the outdoor church service at Footes Lane including a military parade, all the colour and excitement of the cavalcade along St Peter Port's waterfront and reveal how islanders and visitors of all ages enjoyed the landmark day.

We also show how parishes around the island staged their very own celebrations, feature the Gala 70 Liberation Proms at St James, plus we report on how this year's Lib Rock concert and fireworks display helped the island to party the night away.

With a bumper selection of images from Guernsey's special day, who knows, you or someone you know could be in it.

Extra copies of this special Liberation 70 souvenir supplement can also be ordered. Contact your newsagent or call in to our Braye Road offices, tel. 240242.

Miss any of our other Liberation week collection? You can also order back copies of these souvenir supplements in the same way as above.
