Liberation is back in service and running to schedule
CONDOR Liberation was back in service yesterday and running close to schedule.
The £50m. ferry, which suffered faults with its exhaust system over the weekend, was taken out of service on Tuesday to allow for engineering assessments and Saturday's repair work to be consolidated.
Services resumed yesterday with its 9.30am Poole to Guernsey sailing, which was running 15 minutes early.
The 1pm rotation from Guernsey to Jersey ran eight minutes behind schedule, with the 3pm sailing from Jersey to Guernsey running just three minutes late.
'The assessments on Tuesday confirmed that the repair work had been completed to a high standard,' Condor said.
'Our engineers and contractors worked around the clock, enabling the ship to sail on Sunday and Monday.
'Condor Ferries teams in ports, on the phones and at all office locations have worked tirelessly to help customers revise their travel plans.'
The company said it had paid for hundreds of hotel rooms in the islands and in the UK, for numerous flights and travel with other ferry companies.
