Liberation is safe and exceptional, review finds
CONDOR LIBERATION has been declared safe by an independent review.
Commissioned by the States of Guernsey and Jersey following widespread public concerns over the safety of the £50m. trimaran, naval engineering company
Houlder said everything was above board.
'Houlder can confirm that we have no concerns with the stability of the Condor Liberation, the vessel has been found to comply with the requirements of the International Code of Safety for High Speed Craft.
'The ability of the Condor Liberation to maintain average speeds over 30 knots in sea states with a significant wave height over 3m is exceptional,' its report said.
'Given the conditions experienced in the English Channel on a regular basis, this capability is advantageous to her operation.'
The report found that in larger sea states 'she has been shown to occasionally roll to larger angles' and as they occur with little warning, passengers might find them 'disconcerting', however, the motion does not present a risk to the ship.
