States' indecision over La Mare 'has damaged the building industry'

THE States' indecision over the rebuilding of La Mare de Carteret School has hurt construction firms, according to a spokesman for the industry.

The Policy Council's latest economic overview highlighted how the industry had shrunk due to the completion of major projects and feedback suggested that future work would be limited.

Guernsey Building Trades Employers Association president Steve Roussel said that the lack of capital projects and the poor state of the housing market were both affecting the trade.
