Economic Development is expected to release a request for expressions of interest in the service in the next few days. Jersey’s States will do the same.

‘Condor is dedicated to serving the islands and the company awaits the publication of the tender documents with great interest,’ CEO Paul Luxon said yesterday.

‘Having gained great experience from the work we undertook last summer, Condor expects to submit a tender to provide this dedicated inter-island foot passenger ferry service trial running from April to September 2018.’

The idea was first proposed this summer, as the governments of the two islands tried to organise a similar service with Condor. However, the plans fell through when Guernsey’s part of the funding could not be secured.
