Lee Murphy, operations manager for CT Plus Guernsey, was at the meeting, and was able to answer many of the group’s questions.

One of the key areas which came under scrutiny was the new StreetVibe buses.

Members both criticised and praised the buses. Some said they ‘outright hated’ them, citing both the driver’s seat and the passenger seats as being uncomfortable.

‘The bus driver’s seats are unusual, not uncomfortable,’ Mr Murphy said.

‘UK drivers complained when they started using a similar bus, but now there are thousands of them in service across the country – they will get used to them.

‘If there were any actual dangers to people’s backs from the seats, then they wouldn’t be able to build them. Drivers not wanting to change is probably the best way to put it.’
