Waves decision likely, court case put on hold

BLUE ISLANDS’ legal action against the States’ regulatory body, the Transport Licensing Authority, might not go ahead in its current form, it emerged yesterday.

The authority is due to meet on Monday and whether or not it makes a decision regarding airline Waves could have a bearing on the action proceeding.

The Interlocutory Court approved a request yesterday to adjourn the case until 5 January, but not before Deputy Bailiff Richard McMahon, presiding, had questioned the delay.

‘This is the sort of thing where you don’t allow grass to grow under your feet,’ he told Advocate Charlotte Barrett, representing Blue Islands.

‘I am slightly surprised at Blue Islands’ application to adjourn for four weeks.’

He said that in his opinion the only way the issue could be pursued would be if the TLA failed to make a decision at its meeting.
