The presentation was the first public speech Major Christopher Beaumont, pictured right, has made since taking up the position as Seigneur in the middle of last year.

Major Beaumont promised to turn the Seigneur’s House into a tourist attraction and wedding venue to help boost the economy and discussed reviewing the island’s tax system and a new incinerator.

Additionally, he spoke about a goal of making Sark a world heritage site and more environmentally friendly.

Tony Le Lievre, from Sark’s Chamber, said that as an organisation it was excited by the prospects the Seigneur’s presentation brought with it.

‘I suppose the first and probably most important thing to say about the Seigneur’s presentation, is that, finally, we appear to have a “leader” in our midst,’ he said.
