The 9.8m. tide will coincide with the force 9 winds of Storm Eleanor, with gusts of 70mph expected.

Guernsey Police are advising islanders to steer clear of the west coast, to stay indoors if possible, but ensure boats and outdoor equipment are secured.

The road at Perelle was shut before yesterday evening's high tide and will remain so today.

Bus services which use the coast road could be halted or diverted.

Condor's fast ferry services tomorrow have been cancelled and the conventional ferry, the Commodore Clipper, will probably be delayed to allow the wind to drop.
