Guernsey Water deliver bottled water to residents after water main burst
A BURST water main has affected a number of services in Castel this morning [24 Feb].
Guernsey Water's engineers and contractors were called out to carry out emergency repairs to Rue de la Vielle Mare, Castel and the road was closed to traffic.
A nearby resident said she did not have water in her home from 5am.
A spokesperson from Guernsey Water said the burst affected a number of services in the area.
'Our distribution team are currently on site [9am] distributing bottled water [to affected residents].'
The works area was at the junction of La Rocquette, Route de la Mare and Rue de la Ville Mare.
There is no through traffic past the works area, with traffic being diverted from La Houguette crossroads via Kings Mills and Vazon coast road and vice verca.
Guernsey Water hope to have the services restored by the early afternoon and apologise for any inconvenience.
