Ourzon - your local retailers delivered to your door

Amanda Eulenkamp reports: Offering customers the opportunity to shop locally, the Press says it was primarily driven by many of its advertisers looking for a platform to sell their goods at a time when most shops are closed.

Designed to be easy to use from the comfort of your home, customers can browse products, collect everything in one basket and make one simple payment.

Currently goods are delivered to the customer, but looking ahead and post-lockdown, there will be the option of click and collect, within the States’ guidelines at the time.

‘We feel this is a fantastic way to help local businesses get through this difficult period, and hope islanders will support these businesses even more at this time’ said Mark Lewis, managing director of the Guernsey Press.

Sally Barton, field sales manager at the Press, said: 'It’s very easy for businesses to join Ourzon.

'Contact us in the first instance to get set up with a profile, then once you’ve got your log in, you’re good to go.

'You can upload as many items as you wish on your page - we’d suggest photos of the goods and prices.’

Advertising sales manager Sue Hart said: 'Anything we can do to help kick-start the local economy again is important.

'As a local paper, it is vital that we help our advertisers and readers and indeed the whole island. We need to keep money on-island, which helps everyone in the long run.;

The website is developing and growing daily as more and more retailers come on board.

Using Ourzon couldn’t be easier, whether you’re a customer or a retailer.

For customers, you can order local goods from the comfort of your home and get delivery swiftly.

For retailers, it’s a fantastic opportunity to get your products seen on one easy-to-use website.

For customers

• Go to Ourzon.gg

• Browse the selection of products on offer

• Choose your items - they can be from multiple shops, or you can go directly to an online shop - and add them to your basket

• Select your preferred delivery method

• Make one simple payment through a secure payment provider

• You can create an account and save your address and your past order history

• You will receive email confirmation of the goods purchased, which will be packaged and delivered to you

For retailers

• Contact us first, then fill in an easy to use form and we will set you up a profile

• You can upload as many products (with pictures and prices) as you wish to the page

• Once a customer places an order and pays, an email is sent to both parties

• Simply sign in to ‘admin view’ to review order

• Once you’ve made up an order, mark it as ‘packed’. Customer will receive email saying goods are ready for delivery

• Deliver goods
