Vale Castle will see five stages set up for the music and arts festival on Sunday 30 August, from noon until midnight.

This year all funds raised will go to Free Tibet, the Burma Campaign UK and Safer Guernsey.

‘We are really pleased that we can go ahead this year. Since announcing the line-up we have had a really great response,’ said a Vale Earth Fair Collective spokesman.

‘VEF is run entirely by volunteers as a non-profit organisation, supporting various humanitarian charities, in line with the ethos of it all.’

‘This year’s line-up is fantastic and showcases just how much local talent we have on-island. We are absolutely spoiled with talent over here.

‘We put together a line-up we thought would work, and everyone we contacted has been on-board.’

Planning began in September last year.

‘For the first few months everything looked normal, before it began looking like it wouldn’t happen. It’s been so ambiguous.

‘We are thrilled to be one of the only large-scale music events that can take place. Hopefully, some of the acts we were talking to will come next year if we are in a place to.

‘Ticket sales are going really well too, which are at the limited price of £10 in advance and £15 on the door, and with under 12s going free.

‘If booking online there is a small booking fee, but you can collect paper tickets from Vinyl Vaughan, HS2, St James, Yakwax and Atan.’

Buses will be shuttling festival-goers with a new arrangement between the organisers and CT Plus.

‘We’ve been working with CT Plus to get night buses, which will go through to town, to St Martin's and inland to the west coast.’

Bus tickets are available in advance from the bus terminus shop for £3 each.

Warm-up and wind down events are being hosted at the De La Rue either side of the event.

‘We can’t wait to see everyone there. Have a lovely time and be kind to everyone.’
