Planners envisage up to 22 homes on L’Aumone/Friquet site

UP TO 22 new homes could be built at L’Aumone, a draft development framework has suggested.

This Digimap image shows the area of land where planners say up to 22 homes could be built.

The document has been prepared to guide potential development within the boundaries of L’Aumone House, which stands on the corner of L’Aumone and Rue du Friquet, and three homes on Rue du Friquet – Petit Lande, Sherwood and Bru’s Retraite.

New properties should be built within local centres, and these properties are along the eastern edge of the L’Aumone local centre.

To the west of the site are local amenities and services, including a doctors’ surgery, a pharmacy and a convenience store.

L’Aumone House is a farmhouse, with a long stretch of land behind it. The framework said that site alone could accommodate eight to 13 dwellings.

If the three other homes are included, this could increase to 13 to 22 dwellings.

If the site was developed, the access would need to be onto Rue du Friquet. Exactly where would depend how many of the properties were involved with the redevelopment, and whether the houses would be kept.

The properties are currently owned by four separate parties.

Frameworks aim to indicate how a site could be developed. They are not planning applications.

The Development & Planning Authority is inviting comments on the draft development framework by e-mail at planning@gov.gg or in writing to the authority until Friday 27 May.
