Rider injured during bike tour stretchered off cliffs
A COMPETITOR in this year’s Mountain Bike Tour of Guernsey was taken to hospital yesterday after crashing during a stage of the event in Torteval.

St John Emergency Ambulance Service was called just before 11am to pick up the woman, who had come off her bike while riding along a section of cliff path between Les Tielles and Mont Herault. Guernsey Fire and Rescue Service helped with moving the casualty due to the location of the crash being some way from the road and she was taken to the waiting ambulance at Les Tielles before being taken to the Emergency Department at the PEH. It is understood that the rider suffered a leg injury.
