The steps down to the bay were closed in December when it was found that the netting that was used to catch rocks would be unable to cope with further rockfalls.

A team has started inspecting the cliff faces to make sure it is sound and removing any loose stones.

While the steps remain closed for safety, boaters who visit the bay are being warned to avoid these and the bottom of the cliff face.

Once the inspection phase is complete work will be carried out to clear the debris from behind the fencing and it is expected that the work should be completed before the end of the year.
