The event was organised by Locate Guernsey, whose director, Jo Stoddart, said the event had been a resounding success.

‘We received a lot of positive comments from exhibitors and attendees alike.’

She said that, prior to Covid, the agency had organised annual lunches at the Leadenhall Building, where local businesses could invite clients to hear more about Guernsey’s offering.

‘Based on feedback from previous lunches we decided to try a new format which would allow attendees to drop in at any time during the day and stay for as long or as short a time as they were able to.

‘The flexibility offered by this new format was greatly appreciated by attendees and exhibitors alike – it provided opportunities for everyone to mix and mingle freely.’

A total of 17 local businesses had exhibition stands at the event, while a further eight organisations were present in the Ambassador Lounge.

Also present were several professionals who had recently relocated, some of whom had established businesses in Guernsey since their arrival.

Local delegates talked about how their businesses could assist individuals and businesses considering relocating, while those who were themselves previous relocators shared their experience of relocation as well as their impressions of living in Guernsey.

Delegates included a mixture of potential open market residents, professional advisers to wealthy clients considering relocating offshore, business owners considering establishing a new business in Guernsey and those who had been offered jobs in Guernsey and wanted to find out more about island life.

Local speakers, including representatives from estate agents, tax advisers and bankers, took to the stage to share information about their specialist areas.

The afternoon sessions included a chat with four relocators, who had established Guernsey businesses and spoke about the impact that living and working in Guernsey had on them and their families.
