JAPANESE beetles could ravage the grape crop in the vineyards of Sark, if a 'threat' emailed to Sark Estate Management is to be believed.
Managing director Kevin Delaney, pictured, received an anonymous email from 'theshadow' in which the writer claims to have seen the pest species in the island - and details the threat the beetles pose to vines.

Sark constable Matt Joyner confirmed that he had passed the complaint on to Guernsey Police and a spokesman for the force said it would look into the complaint.
