THE future of air travel in the islands is the subject of an online survey being conducted by Guernsey Finance.
The promotional agency for the industry is asking industry figures which services they use and which routes, and international hub airports, could be beneficial in the future.
'The ability to travel by air is exceptionally important for an island community which presents itself as a leading international finance centre and given the increasing frequency of doing business further afield, this is only likely to grow in the future,' said Guernsey Finance chief executive Fiona Le Poidevin.
'The vital nature of air connectivity has been thrown into sharp relief by the decision of Flybe to sell its slots at Gatwick and therefore, potentially deprive Guernsey of one link to London. However, while Gatwick remains an important route, there is a need to look beyond just one airport and, in particular, when we are considering how we might travel to those ultimate destinations which we, as an industry, want to reach in the future.'
