Pride of Guernsey: Guernsey Isolation Support Group

THE Guernsey Isolation Support Group was an inspiration to all during lockdown, according to Lynne Kendal-Falla.

Founded by Pat Jenner, in Mrs Kendal-Falla’s view it would be a worthy winner of the Pride of Guernsey Carer of the Year award.

Mrs Jenner’s daughter, Heidi Billien, and Hayley Jenner-Arnold were among those who organised and provided help for those in need in the difficult times.

‘With the tragic Covid virus entering Guernsey, it has been very daunting and we are very fortunate that these people were among the first to recognise this and actually got up and offer help,’ said Mrs Kendal-Falla.

‘This included organising and finding sponsors for the leaflets that were sent throughout the community, offering volunteers to do shopping, meals, collect vital prescriptions, posting letters and even dog walking and going to check on vulnerable people or others who required additional help.’

Mrs Billien had managed to do this despite having to look after her own family and school her children at home.
