Has MSG put cart before horse with proposed move?

FURTHER to my letter dated 11 November, ‘Where will the patients park?’, and the reply by Debbie Guillou (MSG chief executive).

Published

The highly publicised media release issued by the MSG on 10 October stated that ‘60 parking spaces for staff and consultants have been secured’ and that ‘the majority of the 38 on-site spaces can be designated for patient use’.

Yet nowhere in her reply does Debbie Guillou refute the suggestion that the triangle of land opposite the (proposed) new MSG could still be obtained for their parking, too.

As to the semantics over whether HSBC are moving out, so that the MSG can move in/HSBC are moving out, ready for the MSG to move in.

Certainly a nuance.

‘HSBC’s decision to vacate was unconnected to the MSG’s wish to acquire it and the MSG is still awaiting the outcome of the planning application, for change of use’ (sic).

Hmmm ... why then have they already secured so much room for parking?

Could this be another expensive case of someone putting the proverbial cart before the horse if the planning is turned down?

Are we supposed to believe that this isn’t a long since done and dusted deal?
