ITV and BBC always favour Jersey in most of the sports
INTERESTING to read in the Guernsey Press about the confusion over the Muratti being streamed live, with ITV not seeking permission to do so, while the BBC radio coverage featured a Jersey rugby match ahead of the football.
As we all know these two channels always favour Jersey in most sports. We call them ITV Jersey and BBC sport Jersey.
How often when coming away from Footes Lane from seeing the GFC games and there is something on the BBC sports, its always Jersey Reds that get the full treatment. BBC comments that next year they will give full attention to the Muratti, of course they will because it is in Jersey.
Final comment from me is that Jersey seem to have the better players.
At the moment Guernsey have four young players now playing for UK professional clubs in the leagues. We also have Maya Le Tissier and Alex Scott in England sides. It would be nice maybe for ITV and BBC to promote our Guernsey footballers, that’s where the talent has come from.
We may have lost another Muratti but very proud of the Guernsey footballers that have come through our system home-grown, not like the Jersey Reds.
