DOUZENIERS gave Education president Matt Fallaize a grilling over the proposed new school at Les Beaucamps, with traffic and the recent teachers’ survey their top concerns.
DOUZENIERS gave Education president Matt Fallaize a grilling over the proposed new school at Les Beaucamps, with traffic and the recent teachers’ survey their top concerns.
I WRITE IN response to Deputy Fallaize’s article in the Press of 4 January:
THREE politicians have launched fresh attacks on Education’s plans for the one school, two sites model.
EDUCATION has no fixed idea what it wants to do to manage traffic around the new schools.
CAMPAIGNERS for Alderney’s community pool are aiming for a completion date of 2021 so teams can practise in it for the NatWest International Island Games in Guernsey.
IT IS of considerable concern to me that there are deputies who wish to delay the changes necessary to enable all Guernsey’s young people to enjoy an education fit for the 21st century. Although those deputies have not, to my knowledge, agreed with those in earlier correspondence that the supporters of the proposals are social manipulators or leftists, nevertheless fail to recognise that we wish to see Guernsey’s young people educated in a system that really values every student.
SOME of the island's schools have been hit by a serious computer virus in the last few days.
PARISHIONERS need to be listened to, a St Sampson’s deputy has said following criticism from locals that Education plans lack foresight.
THE States has refused to allow a central witness in the head of curriculum and standards appointment investigation to see documents with her name on to check they are authentic.
EVERY political member of Education, Sport & Culture has disclosed emails, notes and other documents they hold in connection to the appointment of the head of curriculum and standards, the committee has said, but not to the body reviewing the process.
AN initiative to help preserve Guernesiais dialects has been given funding as Education Sport & Culture gets ready to launch its plan for the language.
WHEN you track back the pledges made on education transformation, one of the common themes is the committee’s apparent understanding about the need to listen and communicate.
A PERMANENT commemorative bronze piece of artwork is being created to go on display in a prominent Town location to mark the 75th anniversary of the Liberation.
NEARLY £300,000 more will be spent to raise literacy standards.
SERIOUS concerns from unions that the secondary reforms will not deliver all that has been promised will have alarm bells ringing.
