GUERNSEY swimmer Kristina Neves may be about to face the glamorous prospect of competing at the Olympic Aquatics Centre, but she is going to have to kick the most mundane of problems first – the flu.

The 15-year-old is set to share the London 2012 pool with the likes of double Olympic champion Rebecca Adlington at the British Championships, which begin on Saturday.

These act as the main trials for this summer's Olympics as well as the European Junior Championships with Olympians such as Adlington and Joanne Jackson featuring in the first competition to be staged at the 2012 venue.

And with Neves desperate to feature at the European Juniors, she is looking to recover quickly to give her the best possible chance of making it to Antwerp.
