GUERNSEY'S Kristina Neves has spoken of how she has sacrificed her London 2012 dream to complete her GCSE exams.
The Ladies' College pupil will not compete at this week's ASA Nationals at Ponds Forge in Sheffield – which doubles up as the second Olympic Trials – as she is busy revising.
Swimmer Neves is a hot prospect for the future and qualified for Great Britain's team for the European Junior Championships in the first Olympic Trials at the Aquatics Centre in London.
However, the 15-year-old missed out on a place at this year's Games, and was widely expected to try again in Sheffield.
But Neves has put her education first and will instead be sat behind a desk with a pen in her hand and exam sheets at the ready.
