DAVE CROSLAND took the honours in the Ana Leaf Super Duathlon held at Les Ammareurs.

Thirty competitors lined up in the cold for the third race of the Guernsey Triathlon Club's winter duathlon series to tackle the one- mile run, six-mile bike, one-mile run, six-mile bike, six-mile run format.

It wasn't plain sailing for Crosland, pictured, who, in the absence of a number of the club's elites, had to push hard to overcome a hard-fought challenge from James Travers.

Crosland had to wait until the mid-section of the first bike leg to settle down and confessed he was slightly worried having sat on Travers' shoulder during the initial run. Crosland finished in a time of 53 minutes.
