ONE of the oldest records of the Beau Sejour Barracudas' Specsavers Series was broken by 11-year-old Tom Stapley.

Competing in the 50m backstroke, Stapkey produced a superb swim to touch in 36.12 and surpass the record previously set by Tom Hollingsworth back in 1999.

Stapley also placed first in the 50m butterfly event in another lifetime best of 38.62.

The fastest times of the day overall, came from Courtney Butcher in the backstroke in 31.32 and the butterfly in 30.67 both in new championship record times.

Fastest times from the men came from Oliver Nightingale in the backstroke with a 28.84 and Miles Munro in the butterfly in 28.23.
