RICK LE POIDEVIN has been crowned the new La Grande Mare club champion.
The six-handicapper ended the long reign of island player Dave Jeffery with a two-shot victory over the weekend, but admitted yesterday that his success had yet to sink in.
'The Hampshire Sevens win was special last year, but this an individual thing has blown me away,' said 43-year-old Le Poidevin.
'Dave had won it five years on the trot and he is a great champion, so it feels that little bit more pleasing to have beaten him.'
Chris Gnapp won the championship title off handicap while Louise Loveridge is the women's club champion with Fe Robin taking the handicap honours.
