British record for Le Friec in Sheffield
GUERNSEY swimmer Robyn Le Friec has broken a long-standing British masters record.

The Beau Sejour Barracuda was competing at the ASA National Masters Age Group Championships held at Ponds Forge, Sheffield, taking part in five events in the 25/29 age group.
She was both surprised and delighted to learn that she had broken a British record dating back to 1994 in the 200m butterfly with a time of 2min. 22.97sec. In her other events she clocked 30.21sec. for 50m butterfly, 1-06.21 for 100m fly, 2-09.98 over 200m freestyle and 4-33.04 for 400m free.
Le Friec, who has competed in four NatWest Island Games, is currently based in Cambridge, working as a trainee solicitor, and she trains with the City of Cambridge Masters, but still finds time to represent her club and the island.
She hopes to join a group of Barracuda Masters and compete at the LEN European Masters Championships, which will take place at the iconic London Aquatic Centre in May next year.
