It could even be as soon as next Saturday when the Guernsey side host Bury St Edmunds.

‘He has been training with us for the last two months,’ said head coach Jordan Reynolds, whose side has felt the loss of the star fly-half all season long.

Thomas has not played since pre-season when he damaged his shoulder and ever since Raiders have struggled with a series of stand-in 10s.

Meanwhile, Reynolds has said he was ‘heartbroken for the boys’ after seeing them pipped in the dying seconds at Worthing last weekend.

It was the side’s 10th straight loss, but Reynolds was full of positives.

‘I’m happy to say that we finally ran the game plan we had wanted to do.'
