Ball dominated bat in astonishing fashion in a match that last just 22.5 overs as Griffins, who went into the game with a one-point lead over their opponents, were bowled out for 41.

Only skipper Tom Kirk reached double figures – finishing unbeaten on 14 – as the Cobo attack produced an outstanding display from the outset, reducing their rivals to 12 for 5 inside five overs.

Luke Nussbaumer led the way with three wickets while there were two apiece for Tom Veillard and Ollie Newey.

The run chase was anything but straightforward, though, as young seamer Nic Buckle skittled both Tim Ravenscroft and Kris Moherndl in the first over before adding the scalp of Ben Ferbrache with an absolute pearler.

However, from 10 for 3, Josh Butler and Ollie Newey saw Cobo home with an unbroken stand of 33.

Griffins now face Barbarians on Tuesday and Cobo finish their campaign against Rovers on Thursday. More to follow
