Raiders dig in for fifth victory

RAIDERS remain on the coat-tails of the London and South East division’s early perfectionists after a robust and impressive 20-3 away win at a very wet London Irish Wild Geese on Saturday.

After a lengthy delay caused by the squad’s morning flight issues, Jordan Reynolds’ side scored three first-half tries through Tom Ceillam, Luke Sayer and Asher Veamatahau and held onto it during a second period when no points were added by either team.

Stand-off Joe Andresen converted one and also added a penalty.

The result takes Raiders seven points clear of fourth place and five behind joint pacesetters Wimbledon and Rochford Hundred who both made it six from six, although the former triumphed by a single point at Sidcup.

The top two meet each other next weekend when Raiders welcome CS Stags 1863 to Footes Lane.
