The Batiste-Babina shooting show
COMETS made relatively light work of the Praxis Pumas in last Wednesday’s Vistra League women’s face-off.

Great defensive play helped them triumph 66-36 against a Pumas side lacking their most experienced players, while Emilie Batiste and Ieva Babina provided some key offensive presence with 18 points apiece.
Both teams struggled to find their scoring in the first quarter as Comets pinched a modest 8-6 lead, but Pumas continued their attacking troubles in the run to half-time as the eventual victors blew the gap out to 25-10.
Pumas enjoyed greater success in front of the basket during the second half and Tia Barnett scored a very respectable 16 points total, but Comets ultimately won each quarter for a clear victory.
