The 17-year-old joined the Robins a year ago as a scholar and has played for the club's Under-18s and Under-23s before recently joining the first-team group and making the bench for their Sky Bet Championship victory over Swansea City last weekend.

‘I’m delighted. A lot of hard work has been put into this for the past few years and signing here a year ago as a scholar and then being rewarded with a professional contract has been a very proud moment for me and my family,’ Scott said.

Bristol City Academy manager Gary Probert said: 'Alex is a level-headed young man with a real desire to continually improve himself and we are delighted that he has earned his first professional contract.

'It’s a very proud moment for Alex and his family who have entrusted their son’s development and care to us.'

Scott’s signing further strengthens the relationship between City, Guernsey FC and the Guernsey Football Association.

Scott holds the record as GFC's youngest ever player.

City's player pathway manager Brian Tinnion added: 'A lot of thanks should go to Alex’s family and to Tony Vance at Guernsey FC who recommended Alex and has been so supportive.

'Alex is progressing well along our pathway and he has the right attitude and ability to succeed. Not only is he a very creative midfielder but he is incredibly hard working, especially out of possession, and that’s one of his stand-out qualities.'
