Bels hit Rec for six while Manzur are held by North
BELS boosted their hopes of a top-three finish in the FNB Priaulx League last night as they hit Vale Rec for six at the Corbet Field.
Alfie Le Page’s side scored some excellent goals with Charlton Gauvain getting the ball rolling with a 25-yard left-footed cracker and Steve Renouf’s header doubled the lead before the interval.
Gauvain nodded in his second and Bels’ third early in the second half and then Stuart Roussel got the goal he deserved to make it four before Marc McGrath came off the bench to complete the 6-0 rout with two high-class finishes.
At the Track, Manzur and North drew 1-1 with Marlon Jardim’s opener equalised by Luke Mollet’s fine strike for the visitors.
Manzur remain fourth, but are now just one point ahead of Bels who have two games in hand on them and one on third-placed Sylvans.
