Guernsey’s own Brighton & Hove Albion defender has joined up with the England Women Under-23s in Spain for a warm-weather camp which will include two fixtures against the Netherlands at the Pinatar Arena in Murcia on Friday and next Monday.

‘We are really pleased to have lined up these two games against strong opposition,’ said coach Mo Marley.

‘Every time we play it is a chance for the players to show what they can do and continue their development, while also building those close connections you need with teammates on and off the pitch as you come through the pathway.’

Le Tissier went on international duty after an exceptional March for the Seagulls which saw her shortlisted for the Barclays FA WSL Player of the Month and Goal of the Month awards.

The 19-year-old played every minute of Albion’s three league matches during the month, as the team secured victories over Aston Villa and West Ham.

Le Tissier’s shortlisted winning goal against Villa was her first in the WSL and saw her fire home smartly on the volley from Megan Connolly’s corner.

When she played Arsenal, she broke the record for most WSL appearances as a teenager with 53.
