Where the next chapter of the Guernsey star’s blossoming career will take her has yet to be revealed, but the England under-23 defender posted on social media on Tuesday night that she is leaving the Seagulls.

‘Four years at Brighton, making special memories through the highs and the lows that will stay with me forever, have finally come to an end,’ Le Tissier said.

‘For taking me in as a 16-year-old who moved countries into a whole new environment, I’m grateful. I’m also grateful for my teammates, the staff, the fans and the club.

‘To my teammates, I can’t thank you enough, my family for a lifetime.

‘To Hope [Powell, manager] and the staff, thank you for giving me an opportunity and putting your trust in me from a young age, faith that I will forever cherish.

‘To the fans, your support never goes unnoticed, I’ve loved playing in front of you and hope you can see that I’ve given you everything I’ve had, every time I wore the shirt.

‘Finally to the club, I wish you all the best for the future, thank you for everything,’ added Brighton’s young player of the year from last season.

News of her destination is thought to be imminent.

Meanwhile, back in the island, domestic clubs have warmly welcomed the news that Guernsey Football League Management will not be charging competition entry fees for the 2022-23 season.

The decision was based on having a surplus in the GFLM account from the prior two seasons and it felt that it was a suitable time to reward clubs.

‘It’s always nice when you do not have to pay fees you were otherwise expecting to pay. [Costs] are a bit hand-to-mouth, so anything that we do not have to pay is gratefully received,’ said Bels president Andy Robert.

‘It’s a fantastic gesture by the GFLM which I’m sure will be welcomed by every club involved – and certainly is by Bels as we look forward to celebrating our 125th anniversary year.’

The aim is to give back to the clubs now so they can prepare for the next season with knowledge of the financial assistance, while GFLM now focus on the planning for the coming campaign.

Guy Hardill of Sylvans said: ‘I think a lot of clubs are in a bit of a cost-living crisis at the moment, so this will help everyone out.

‘We try to keep the subs as low as possible for all the players but still have to maintain the training facilities, pitches and equipment.

‘We’re always trying to improve the club, with all money saved being invested back into the club.

‘We’ve just built a new bike park to encourage more people to cycle, so we hope to do more like this.’

Vale Rec were also grateful for the gesture.

‘It’s always nice to save money, which can then be put towards other areas.

‘Especially with the Island Games coming up next year, it will help us prepare [the Corbet Field],’ said chairman Jody Bisson.
