‘Massive’ home win for GFC
GUERNSEY FC picked up three crucial points yesterday with an impressive 4-1 win over play-off chasing Southall at Footes Lane on the same weekend that all five sides below them in Isthmian South Central lost.

In the absence of Ross Allen, the altered game-plan worked a treat for the Green Lions, who had Matt Loaring leading them as captain in his 350th appearance for the club, with goals from Jacob Fallaize and Charlton Gauvain giving them a 2-0 lead at half-time.
After the interval, Sam Murray increased the lead just before the hour mark and although Southall substitute Anthony O’Connor pulled a goal back on 73min., Will Fazakerley eased any nerves by making the game safe in the 88th minute of a game that saw Dave Rihoy playing the last 14 minutes in goal for the Green Lions after Josh Addison went off injured.
‘It’s a massive win and I thought the performance was excellent as well against a good side,’ said GFC manager Tony Vance.
