Neves chalks up four more records
FOUR more open island long-course records have fallen to the young swimming sensation Kristina Neves, bringing her total to seven.
The Guernsey Swimming Club member (pictured), still just 14, has broken a number of 50m pool marks in the last nine months, including records which went back decades and were held by elite performers such as Cate Jackson and Samantha Herridge, who competed at Commonwealth Games level.
With her NatWest Island Games debut on the horizon the teenager achieved nine personal best times at the South East Long Course Youth Championships in Crawley and Guildford where she competed in both the 14/15 years and 16-and-over girls categories.
Over a three-day period at Crawley, for the first two days of the meet, and then in Guildford, she swam 13 events and, in total, 22 races.
