Munro lowers record with fastest time of the day

MILES MUNRO set a new championship record in the 100m freestyle event of the Specsavers Series, staged by the Beau Sejour Barracudas Swimming Club, with an impressive time of 54.13sec. making his time the fastest of the day from the boys.

MILES MUNRO set a new championship record in the 100m freestyle event of the Specsavers Series, staged by the Beau Sejour Barracudas Swimming Club, with an impressive time of 54.13sec. making his time the fastest of the day from the boys.

Fastest of the day among the girls was Victoria Parfit who recorded an exciting lifetime best of 1-00.70.

The youngest age group (nine years) saw Tom Stapley and Sophie Wilcox take the honours in 1-33.47 and 1-36.50 respectively, while the 10-year-olds saw Orla Rabey improve on her personal best by over 14 seconds to touch in 1-25.80. The boys' title went to Louis Tostevin in an impressive 1-18.56, more than 10 seconds faster than his entered time.

Hannah Rosumek and Thomas Teasdale continue to make their mark in the 11-year age group with 1-15.25 and 1-18.48 respectively, with the former's time another personal best.
