IT WAS a disappointing result for the team representing Guernsey at this year's inter-insular staged at Les Quennevais Pool in Jersey.

Despite a comfortable win the previous year, swimmers throughout the age groups tried in vain to defend their title but Jersey, taking advantage of competing in their home pool, claimed the Governor's Cup with a 30-point margin.

It was a clean sweep for the men's senior age group with Tom Hollingsworth, Joshua Lewis, Oliver Nightingale and Ben Lowndes securing maximum points to take the top two spots in the individual events and winning both their relay events with ease.
