KRISTINA NEVES and Ben Lowndes took top honours in the 16-and-over category at the Guernsey Swimming Club's 50m Gala.
Neves, who was the star of the 2011 Island Games for Guernsey with a long string of individual golds, did not travel to Bermuda where the island failed to win one individual title.
Over the 50m sprints there were also notable swims among the club's more senior ranks from Alex Batiste in the backstroke and freestyle and Matt Butt in the butterfly.
In total, three 50m butterfly records were broken at the event. There were two among the 10/11 years age group where Luke Winstanley clocked 37.96 and Laura Le Cras 39.91. And eight year old Abigail Stephens put in a fine performance to break the girls' under 9 butterfly record in a creditable 46.68 and at the same time showed herself to have great potential.
