Falcons are flying high

DEFENDING champions Falcons remain on course to retain their Sandeman Men's Fours title.

The Vale Rec bowls team of skip Matt Le Ber, Gary Pitschou, Garry Collins and Len Le Ber lived up to their hot-favourites billing in their quarter-final with The Hitmen.

To his credit, the latter's skip, Daniel de la Mare, has brought some new faces into the team fours, namely Matt Solway, Don Ogier and Ivan Donaldson.

It was asking too much to beat such an experienced side at the Guernsey Bowling Club's Beau Sejour green, but the novices played well despite being beaten 26-5.

In the semi-finals, Falcons will play fellow Vale Rec team the Barracudas.
