HEATHER WATSON did not hang around for the closing ceremony in Delhi.

The tennis star was anxious to make up for lost time on the tour circuit which, unlike the Commonwealth Games, carries important ranking points and she has flown to Luxembourg where tomorrow she will take part in the qualifiers for the WTA's BGL BNP Paribas Luxembourg Open.

Watson, who reached the quarter-finals at the Commonwealths despite a prolonged stomach upset, has trained this week at the National Training Centre in Roehampton for a couple of days after news that she was the last accepted player for the Luxembourg indoor event.

If she passes through qualifying, Watson, who is ranked 209, could play against top 100 ranked players.
