Watson into quarter finals

HEATHER WATSON faces a likely clash with the third seed in the quarter-finals at the ITF event in Toronto.

In the second round, Watson breezed past American Jan Abaza 6-1, 6-1 to make the last eight of the $50,000 tournament, in which she will face either Alison Riske or Lauren Albanese.

Third seed Riske would provide a much stronger test for the world No. 209 Sarnian as the American is ranked 117.
