Watson wins the biggest title of her senior career

HEATHER WATSON has won the ITF Toronto Tevlin Challenger, netting her US$7,315 and a huge boost to her ratings.

The Guernsey star beat France's Alize Lim 6-3, 6-3 in a match that lasted 1hr 19min.

As far as her fledgling senior career is concerned, the tournament success rates as the biggest yet and will gain her 70 ranking points, which would lift her over the 200-barrier up to around the 175 mark.

Speaking after that match she said her father, Ian, had set her a goal of 150 and that, with one tournament left this year, she was hoping to reach that target.
