AROUND 40 new jobs have been created at Iceland's new store, which opened today.
It is the second store to be opened in Guernsey by Sandpiper and yesterday staff were busy preparing for the official opening.
Plans were approved in January to split the Thomas Bucktrout Flagship store at Admiral Park into two shops.
The keys were finally handed over to the company a week yesterday to stock the store with lines from the UK frozen food giant.
Area manager for Sandpiper Kenny McDonald said he was pleased in the difficult economic situation that more jobs could be offered to islanders.
