Take the wheel of a luxury Lexus Hybrid

LEXUS’S flagship hybrid luxury saloon, the LS, is at Freelance CI this week, along with its sibling, the Lexus LC coupe. They will be available to view and test drive at Freelance up to and including Tuesday next week, after which they move on to Jersey.

Lexus LS

The LS is an exclusive petrol-electric hybrid, powered by a 3.5 litre V6 engine combined with an electric motor to give a combined 359bhp and 650Nm of torque.

Available as a rear-wheel or all-wheel drive vehicle, it comes in four trim levels: LS 500h, Luxury, F Sport and Premier.

In rear-wheel drive guise, the LS 500h accelerates from 0-60mph in as little as 5.2 seconds and reaches a top speed of 155mph.

The LS is very highly specified throughout the range and is strong on comfort and safety features.

The LC 500h is a coupe built on the same platform as the LS.

It’s a stunning luxury cruiser with an eco-friendly side. In terms of style and drive, it ploughs its own unique furrow but in terms of its market Lexus considers the likes of the Porsche 911 and BMW 6-Series as attracting similar types of customers.

The LC’s multi-stage hybrid transmission uses a mix of traditional automatic technology and continuously variable transmission – providing both eco-flexibility and the performance-orientated capabilities of an ‘old school’ auto – in one 10-speed transmission.

Under the bonnet is a 3.5-litre petrol V6 mated to a lithium-ion battery, which together provides an output of 359bhp with a claimed 44.1mpg.

There is also a 5-litre, V8 petrol only version at 477bhp.

There are three trim levels available – LC, Sport Pack and Sport+ Pack.

Luxury and comfort of the highest order are key to both of these stunning vehicles.

The team at Freelance look forward to seeing you at the Vale Garage Complex for a full demonstration.

To take one of these luxury vehicles for a test drive, telephone Freelance today to book a slot before the cars move on to Jersey.

  • Look out for Mark Windsor’s test drive report of the LS in the next issue of GP Motoring, out on 23 March.
